Background
- Function: Receptor for neuromedin-U and neuromedin-S neuropeptides.
- Caution: Initiator methionine may be Met-1 or Met-24.
- Similarity: Member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.
- Tissue Specificity: Expressed abundantly in peripheral organs, especially gastrointestinal and urogenital systems, with highest levels in testes. Lower expression in CNS, mainly in cerebellum, dorsal root ganglia, hippocampus, and spinal cord.
