Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Improved specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human P4HB/ERBA2L.
Target Information
Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) is a multifunctional protein that catalyzes the formation, breakage, and rearrangement of disulfide bonds.
At the cell surface, PDI acts as a reductase that cleaves disulfide bonds of proteins attached to the cell, potentially modifying exofacial protein structures.
Inside the cell, PDI forms or rearranges disulfide bonds of nascent proteins.
At high concentrations, it functions as a chaperone inhibiting aggregation of misfolded proteins; at low concentrations, it facilitates aggregation (anti-chaperone activity).
PDI may interact with other chaperones in modifying TG precursor structures during hormone biogenesis.
It also serves as a structural subunit of enzymes such as prolyl 4-hydroxylase and microsomal triacylglycerol transfer protein (MTTP).
It acts as a receptor for LGALS9, retaining P4HB at the cell surface of Th2 T helper cells, enhancing disulfide reductase activity and cell migration.
