Biotin is a water-soluble B complex vitamin (Vitamin B7), essential for all organisms. It can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and certain plants. Biotin plays a key role in carbon dioxide incorporation into organic compounds and has a molecular weight of approximately 244 Da.
