Product Description

The JC virus (JCV) is a human polyomavirus belonging to the Papovaviridae family. It is a double-stranded DNA virus genetically similar to BK virus and SV40. JCV is widespread in the general population, often acquired in childhood or adolescence, and typically remains latent in the gastrointestinal tract or kidneys. In immunocompromised individuals, JCV can cause progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) and nephropathy in kidney transplant patients.

Storage Conditions and Product Stability

All kit components can be stored for 2 years after production without performance loss.
Store at -20°C upon arrival.
Avoid repeated thawing/freezing (>2×) of Master Mix and Positive Control.
For intermittent use, aliquot reagents before freezing.
