This antibody is capable of recognizing biotin-conjugated proteins and shows very little or no affinity toward free biotin.
Target Information
Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin (Vitamin B7) required by all organisms. It can be synthesized only by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plants. Biotin is essential for the incorporation of carbon dioxide into organic compounds and has a molecular weight of approximately 244 Da.
