Target Information
CHST7 belongs to the sulfotransferase gene family, which generates sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) moieties during chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis. These enzymes create structural diversity among chondroitin sulfates by transferring sulfate with high substrate specificity. CHST7 mainly transfers sulfate to N-acetylgalactosamine. Expression regulation of this gene family determines sulfated GAG expression and influences biological processes. CHST7 is located on chromosome Xp11.23.
