Product Specific Information

• Antibody is tested in direct ELISA.
• For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Calbindin-D-28K (also termed vitamin D-dependent calcium-binding protein or cholecalcin) is a highly conserved 28 kDa calcium-binding protein with broad tissue distribution.
It belongs to the family of low molecular weight calcium-binding proteins (CaBPs), including calmodulin, S-100, parvalbumin, and troponin C.
These CaBPs share homologous primary structures containing EF-hand type folds for Ca²⁺ binding.
Calbindin-D-28K is predominantly found in neurons of the central and peripheral nervous system and in epithelial cells involved in calcium transport, such as kidney distal tubular cells and enteric neuroendocrine cells.
