Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody is specific for human IL-17F protein. BLAST analysis suggests 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IL-17F from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in bronchial epithelial, endothelial, fibroblast, and eosinophil cells.
IL-17F may form homodimers or heterodimers with IL-17A and acts via the IL-17R receptor to recruit monocytes and neutrophils by increasing chemokine production.
It stimulates TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production, and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
TGF-β and IL-23 are required for Th17 cell induction and maintenance, which in turn produce pro-inflammatory cytokines.
IL-17F inhibits angiogenesis and induces endothelial cells to produce IL-2, TGF-β, and MCP-1.
