• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
  Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in the regulation of T cell and B cell signaling through dual immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). Upon phosphorylation by associated kinases, these motifs provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases.
CD31 is ubiquitously expressed within the vascular compartment, mainly at junctions between adjacent cells. Its N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, crucial for cell–cell interactions.
This multifunctional molecule plays diverse roles in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immunoreceptor signaling regulation, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis, and thrombosis.
It is one of the key regulatory molecules in the vascular system.
