Target Information
eIF4E는 번역 효율 향상, 스플라이싱, mRNA 안정성, RNA 핵 내 수출 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 모든 진핵세포 mRNA는 5' 말단에 7-methylguanosine 캡 구조(m7GpppX, X는 임의의 뉴클레오타이드)를 가지고 있습니다.
EIF4E는 리보솜을 mRNA의 캡 구조로 유도하는 역할을 하는 진핵 번역 개시 인자입니다. 약 24 kDa의 폴리펩타이드로, 자유형태와 EIF4F 복합체의 일부 형태로 존재합니다. EIF4E는 번역 개시 과정의 속도 제한 요소로, mRNA-리보솜 결합 단계에 관여합니다. EIF4F 복합체의 다른 구성 요소로는 ATPase 및 RNA helicase 활성을 가진 50 kDa의 EIF4A와 220 kDa의 EIF4G가 있습니다.
