Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The PRSS2 gene encodes anionic trypsinogen, a member of the trypsin family of serine proteases. It is located within the T cell receptor beta locus and cleaves peptide bonds following lysine or arginine residues. This enzyme is abundant in pancreatic juice and is upregulated in pancreatitis. It can activate pro-urokinase in ovarian tumors, suggesting a role in tumor invasion, and is capable of degrading type II collagen in rheumatoid arthritis synovitis tissue. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing.
