• This antibody is expected to recognize both reported isoforms (NP_003273.1; NP_001139313.1).
• Tested in Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:8,000.

Target Information

The TNNI2 gene encodes a fast-twitch skeletal muscle protein, part of the troponin complex (troponin T, C, and I subunits). The complex regulates calcium-dependent muscle contraction.
Mouse studies indicate expression in vascular smooth muscle, suggesting a role in smooth muscle regulation.
Beyond muscle tissues, TNNI2 is found in corneal epithelium and cartilage (inhibitor of angiogenesis), and mammary gland (co-activator of estrogen receptor-related receptor alpha).
It also suppresses tumor growth in human ovarian carcinoma.
Mutations in TNNI2 cause myopathy and distal arthrogryposis type 2B.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
