This ZEB1 antibody (TA802298) does not cross-react with ZEB2.


Target Information

ZEB1 (Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1) acts as a transcriptional repressor. It inhibits interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression and modulates promoter activity of the ATP1A1 gene depending on cDNA quantity and cell type. ZEB1 represses E-cadherin promoters and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by recruiting SMARCA4/BRG1. It also represses BCL6 transcription in the presence of the corepressor CTBP1, positively regulates neuronal differentiation, and represses RCOR1 transcription activation during neurogenesis. Mutations in this gene can result in corneal dystrophy, including posterior polymorphous and Fuchs endothelial dystrophies.
