Target Information
TULP1 is a member of the tubby-like gene family (TULPs), identified in plants, vertebrates, and invertebrates. These proteins share a conserved C-terminal region of approximately 200 amino acids. The gene product plays a role in photoreceptor physiology. Mutations in TULP1 are linked to recessive juvenile retinitis pigmentosa and Leber congenital amaurosis-15.
