Target Information
Mcur1 encodes a protein that is a key regulator of the mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU), which is required for calcium entry into the mitochondrion. Mcur1 plays a direct role in uniporter-mediated calcium uptake through direct interaction with MCU and may be involved in the assembly of the membrane components of the uniporter complex.
