Target Information
The 90 kDa heat shock protein (Hsp90) family of molecular chaperones is a highly conserved group of proteins with key physiological roles. Hsp90 is involved in various cellular processes and is associated with signal transduction machinery.
TRAP1, a homolog of Hsp90, interacts with multiple proteins and is localized in the mitochondria of mammalian cells. Its mitochondrial targeting sequence indicates that TRAP1 functions as a mitochondrial matrix protein.
