Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in sterile water to 0.1 mg/mL. Centrifuge vial before opening. Suspend the product by gently pipetting the recommended solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX. Allow several minutes for complete reconstitution.
For prolonged storage, dilute to working aliquots in a 0.1% BSA solution, store at -80°C and avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family includes VEGF-A, VEGF-B, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, VEGF-E, and PIGF. VEGF and its receptor system are fundamental regulators of angiogenesis signaling. Most tumors require angiogenesis, and VEGF is recognized as the most potent angiogenic cytokine associated with this process.
Five isoforms of VEGF are generated by alternative splicing from a single VEGF gene. These isoforms bind to two tyrosine-kinase receptors, flt-1 (VEGFR-1) and flk-1/KDR (VEGFR-2), which are expressed predominantly on endothelial cells.
