Target Information

THADA (thyroid adenoma associated), also known as GITA, is a 1,953 amino acid protein expressed in testis, thyroid, pancreas, stomach, and small intestine.
Chromosomal aberrations in the THADA gene are associated with benign thyroid adenomas, suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis.
The THADA gene maps to human chromosome 2, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 8% of the human genome.
Mutations in other chromosome 2-localized genes, such as ABCA12, ABCG5, and ABCG8, are associated with Harlequin ichthyosis and sitosterolemia, respectively.
