Target Information
EPHB2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of the Eph family play critical roles in biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and neural synapse formation and maturation.
Ephrins are classified into ephrin-A (EFNA) and ephrin-B (EFNB) classes, based on their membrane anchoring and sequence characteristics. Eph receptors are similarly divided into two groups according to their extracellular domain similarities and ligand affinities. EphB4 binds ephrin-B2 and is essential for vascular development.
