FA2H는 2-hydroxysphingolipids 합성을 촉매하는 단백질로, sphingolipids의 구조적 다양성과 세포 내 기능에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이러한 지질은 ceramide의 N-acyl 사슬의 2-hydroxylation과 다양한 head group 변형에 의해 다양성이 형성됩니다.
