Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs), including mRNA precursors and mature mRNAs, are associated with specific proteins to form heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) complexes.
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L (hnRNP L) is stably associated with these complexes and plays a key role in mRNA formation, packaging, processing, and function.
hnRNP L is localized in the nucleoplasm as part of the hnRNP complex but can also be found in the cytoplasm, suggesting additional cytoplasmic functions.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
