Target Information
CCL5 (RANTES)는 염색체 17q에 위치한 케모카인 유전자로, 면역 조절 및 염증 반응에 관여하는 분비 단백질 슈퍼패밀리에 속합니다. CCL5는 혈액 단핵구, 메모리 T 헬퍼 세포, 호산구에 대한 화학주성 인자로 작용하며, 호염기구에서 히스타민 방출을 유도하고 호산구를 활성화합니다. 또한 CD8+ 세포에 의해 생성되는 주요 HIV 억제 인자 중 하나로, CCR5 수용체의 자연 리간드로 작용하여 HIV-1 R5 균주의 복제를 억제합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사 변이가 존재하며, 각각 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다. CCL5 관련 질환으로는 HIV-1 감염 및 치근단 육아종 등이 보고되어 있습니다.
