Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. Binding of HSV glycoprotein D (gD) to TNFRSF14 is involved in viral entry. The cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. TNFRSF14 activation in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, enhancing inflammation and CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
