Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-sheep serum, purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase (Calf intestine).
Cross-reactivity against Alkaline Phosphatase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
No reaction was observed against the bacterial form of the enzyme.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase is a homodimeric protein enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer, essential for catalytic activity.
It is optimally active at alkaline pH and is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
ALP plays a role in liver metabolism and skeletal development.
In bacteria, ALP acts as a source of inorganic phosphate, and in yeast, it serves as a model for studying membrane protein sorting.
