Product Specific Information

The PC61.5 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early T and B cell progenitors and activated mature lymphocytes. It binds IL-2 with low affinity alone but forms a high-affinity receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain). The PC61.5 antibody inhibits IL-2 binding to both high and low affinity receptors and plays a role in lymphocyte activation and proliferation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize concentration empirically.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the alpha chain of the interleukin-2 receptor, involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The receptor complex (IL2RA, IL2RB, IL2RG) forms a high-affinity IL-2 receptor. Homodimeric IL2RA or IL2RB forms lower-affinity receptors. IL-2 is produced by mature T cells and regulates growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Mutations in IL2RA are linked to immune dysregulation and colitis-like disease in mice.
