Target Information
POFUT1는 소포체 내에 존재하는 glycosyltransferase O-Fuc 패밀리의 구성원으로, 여러 세포 표면 및 분비 단백질의 epidermal growth factor-like 반복 내의 보존된 serine 또는 threonine 잔기에 O-fucose를 결합시킵니다. POFUT2와 달리 thrombospondin type 1 반복에도 fucose를 전달할 수 있습니다. POFUT1의 기질 중 일부는 ligand-induced receptor signaling에 관여하며, 대표적으로 Notch 단백질이 포함됩니다. Mouse ES 세포에서 POFUT 결손 시 Notch 수용체는 세포 표면에 존재하지만 ligand 결합 및 신호 전달이 이루어지지 않습니다.
