Target Information
Phosphatidylinositol-glycans (PIGs)는 다중 막 관통 단백질로, 소포체에 위치하며 glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) 앵커 생합성에 필수적인 역할을 합니다. 일부 PIG 단백질은 GPI transamidase 복합체의 구성요소로서 GPI 부착 신호 또는 지질 부분 인식에 관여하며, 다른 PIG 단백질은 glycosyltransferase 복합체에 속하여 N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc)을 phosphatidylinositol (PI)에 전달하는 기능을 수행합니다.
PIG-F는 ethanolamine phosphate (EtNP) transferase의 보조 서브유닛으로, PIG-O와 결합하여 그 발현과 안정성을 유지합니다. 두 단백질은 함께 EtNP를 GPI의 세 번째 mannose (Man-3)에 전달하는 효소로 작용합니다.
PIG-F 유전자 변이는 Man-3에 대한 EtNP 추가를 방해하여 GPI-anchored 단백질의 결핍을 초래할 수 있습니다.
