Product Specific Information

MA5-15741 targets CD19 in indirect ELISA, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen used is a purified recombinant fragment of human CD19 expressed in E. coli.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and appears on certain myeloid leukemia cells, especially monocytic lineage. CD19 acts as a key regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias.

As a cell surface molecule, CD19 associates with the B cell receptor (BCR) complex to lower the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. It functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor and can also signal independently of BCR co-ligation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression can cause B cell hyperactivity.
