Target Information
TRIM25, also known as estrogen responsive finger protein (EFP), is a member of the RING finger-B box-coiled coil family and a downstream target of estrogen receptor α.
Mice lacking this gene show underdeveloped uterus and reduced estrogen responsiveness, indicating its essential role in estrogen-dependent proliferation.
TRIM25 expression is elevated in breast carcinoma, promoting tumor growth via E3 ubiquitin ligase activity targeting 14-3-3σ.
Recent studies also show TRIM25’s crucial role in the RIG-I signaling pathway for antiviral innate immunity.
