Target Information
Transglutaminases are enzymes that catalyze the crosslinking of proteins via epsilon-gamma glutamyl lysine isopeptide bonds. Although their primary structures vary, they share conserved active site sequences and exhibit calcium-dependent activity. The TGM3 protein consists of two polypeptide chains activated from a single precursor by proteolysis and plays a role in the late stages of cell envelope formation in the epidermis and hair follicle.
