Target Information

The protein encoded by EGR1 belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein functioning as a transcriptional regulator. Activated target genes are required for differentiation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest EGR1 acts as a cancer suppressor gene.
