TEF1은 TEA/ATTS 도메인 패밀리에 속하는 핵 단백질로, 다양한 세포 유형에서 발현되며 여러 유전자의 발현 조절에 관여합니다. TEF-1은 GT-IIC, SphI/II 및 M-CAT 서열에 결합하며, TGF-α의 전사 조절에도 관여합니다. 또한 TEF-1은 PKC에 의해 인산화되어 DNA 결합 능력이 감소하며, 이는 PKC 억제 조절과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. TEF-1은 또한 종양 항원(TAg)과 복합체를 형성하여 종양 발생에 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다. TEF-1의 이합체화(dimerization)는 전사 조절 기능에 중요합니다.
