Target Information
Krueppel-like factors (KLFs) are a family of evolutionarily conserved zinc finger-containing transcription factors involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and embryogenesis.
Members of the Sp1-like/KLF family can act as activators or repressors depending on promoter binding and coregulator interactions.
KLF6 (also known as Zf9 or CPBP) and KLF3 are Kruppel-like zinc finger transcription factors. KLF6 is induced during hepatic stellate cell activation and transactivates collagen I promoter-driven reporter genes, suggesting a role in tissue injury response.
KLF3 may play a role in hematopoiesis.
