Target Information
Superoxide dismutase (SOD)는 활성산소(ROS)에 대한 방어 시스템에 관여하는 항산화 효소입니다.
SOD는 초과산화물 음이온(O₂⁻)을 과산화수소로 전환하며, 이후 글루타티온 퍼옥시다제 및 카탈라아제에 의해 무해한 O₂와 H₂O로 전환됩니다.
SOD에는 여러 클래스가 존재합니다:
- SOD1 (Cu, Zn-SOD): 세포질 내 존재, 32 kDa의 호모다이머 효소로 각 서브유닛에 Cu와 Zn을 포함
- SOD2 (Mn-SOD): 미토콘드리아 매트릭스에 위치한 80 kDa 테트라머 효소로, 미토콘드리아 호흡사슬 근처의 초과산화물 생성원과 인접
- SOD3 (EC-SOD): 주로 폐, 혈관벽, 기도에서 발현되는 헤파린 결합성 다중체
- SOD4 (CCS): Cu/Zn SOD에 구리를 전달하는 구리 샤페론 단백질
