Target Information
Transcription factor that can act as both activator and repressor. Binds the 5'-CACCC-3' core sequence and regulates its own promoter. Controls expression of key transcription factors during embryonic development. Plays a crucial role in maintaining embryonic stem cells and preventing their differentiation. Essential for establishing skin barrier function and ocular surface maintenance. Involved in epithelial cell differentiation and may function in skeletal and kidney development. Contributes to down-regulation of p53/TP53 transcription.
