Target Information

Tis7, also known as IFRD1, is a 442-amino-acid membrane-associated, non-nuclear intracellular protein belonging to the IFRD family. It is a regulatory protein expressed in various tissues and plays an important role in regulating gene activity during proliferative and differentiative pathways induced by NGF. Reports suggest that Tis7 may act as an autocrine factor that modulates ligand-induced signals and may enhance adaptive responses by stimulating the production of differentiated enterocytes. Tis7 functions as a negative regulator of transcriptional activity and represses genes involved in myogenesis, muscle maintenance, and regeneration in a histone deacetylase-dependent manner.
