Target Information
This gene encodes a protein containing six RCC1-like domains (RLDs), characteristic of guanine nucleotide exchange factors. The encoded protein localizes to the Golgi body and interacts with RPGRIP1. It is essential for the viability of rod photoreceptors and is associated with X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
