Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Ataxin-2 binding protein 1 has an RNP motif highly conserved among RNA-binding proteins. This protein binds to the C-terminus of ataxin-2 and may contribute to the restricted pathology of spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2).
Ataxin-2 is the gene product of the SCA2 gene, which causes familial neurodegenerative diseases.
Both ataxin-2 binding protein 1 and ataxin-2 are localized in the trans-Golgi network.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, though some full-length sequences remain undetermined.
