Target Information
EFHD2, also known as Swiprosin-1 or SWS1, is an EF-hand and coiled-coil-containing adaptor protein involved in lymphocyte physiology.
EFHD2 is highly expressed in CD8+ T cells and immature B cells, providing a membrane scaffold required for BCR-induced calcium flux via Syk, SLP-65, and PLC-γ2 pathways.
It may regulate BCR-induced apoptosis in immature and primary B cells and control spontaneous apoptosis through BCL2L1 regulation.
EFHD2 also acts as a negative regulator of the canonical NF-κB-activating pathway.
