Target Information
ETV1 (ER81):
ETV1, also known as ER81, is a member of the Ets gene family encoding sequence-specific DNA-binding proteins that recognize DNA sequences with a centrally located 5'-GGAA-3' element. Although all Ets proteins recognize the same core sequence, each interacts with unique flanking sequences. ER81 binds the motif 5'-CGGAA/T-3'. It is highly expressed in brain, testis, lung, and heart, and moderately expressed in spleen, pancreas, colon, and small intestine. During development, ER81 shows distinct expression patterns suggesting an important role in organogenesis. ERK-1 activates ER81 transcriptional activity, while MAPKAP kinase 2 inhibits it.
