This antibody is a monoclonal mixture of FITC-conjugated CD4 (clone 7E14, isotype IgG1) and PE-conjugated CD27 (clone DEN-3, isotype IgG1).

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of the type II MHC antigen and also serves as a receptor for HIV. It is present on most T helper cells and normal thymocytes. The cytoplasmic portion of CD4 is associated with p56lck tyrosine kinase, and its expression is commonly found in human lymph nodes and tonsils.

CD27 (50 kDa) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily, along with CD40 and CD30. TNF receptor family members regulate cell proliferation and death. Expression of CD27 and its ligand CD70 is mainly confined to lymphocytes. High CD27 expression depends on proper antigen receptor ligation, while CD70 expression requires additional co-stimulatory or pro-inflammatory signals. CD27 exists as a membrane-bound receptor, but a soluble form is also produced.
