Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45623 was sufficient for detection of Versican in 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
- Detects >350 kDa.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S351-23.
Target Information
Versican is a large aggregating proteoglycan found in fibrous, articular, and elastic cartilages, as well as in nervous, epidermal, arterial, and loose connective tissues. Versican V1 enhances cell proliferation, induces cell transformation, and protects cells from apoptosis by downregulating proapoptotic Bad. It also plays an inflammatory role in human airways, particularly in asthmatics.
