Target Information
USP5 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 5)는 linear 및 branched multiubiquitin polymer를 절단하며, branched polymer에 대해 높은 친화성을 가집니다.
이 단백질은 unanchored Lys-48-linked polyubiquitin의 분해에 관여하며, linear 및 Lys-63 linked polyubiquitin에도 낮은 친화도로 결합합니다.
USP5의 발현 억제는 p53/TP53의 축적과 전사 활성 증가를 유발하며, 이는 축적된 unanchored polyubiquitin이 ubiquitinated p53/TP53과 경쟁하지만 MDM2와는 경쟁하지 못하기 때문입니다.
