Cadherin-16 (Ksp-Cadherin) is a type I membrane protein expressed specifically in the kidney, localized to the basolateral membrane of renal tubular epithelial cells.
The human Cadherin-16 gene maps to chromosome 16q21–q22, while the mouse ortholog is located in a syntenic region of distal chromosome 8.
