Target Information
ADCYAP1 (adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1) stimulates adenylate cyclase and increases cAMP levels in target cells through its specific receptors.
It functions as a hypophysiotropic hormone, neurotransmitter, and neuromodulator, and plays roles in paracrine and autocrine regulation.
The ADCYAP1 gene encodes three mature peptides, including two isotypes (short and long forms).
