Target Information
The trimeric complex of CDK7, cyclin H, and MNAT1 functions as a Cdk-activating kinase (CAK). It is an essential component of the transcription factor TFIIH, which is involved in transcription initiation and DNA repair. This complex links transcription regulation and the cell cycle. It also plays a role in double-strand break repair associated with BRCA1 function. CDK7 may be a target for germline cancer-inducing mutations.
