MMS22L is a component of the MMS22L-TONSL complex, which stimulates recombination-dependent repair of stalled or collapsed replication forks. This complex is essential for maintaining genome integrity during DNA replication by promoting homologous recombination-mediated repair of replication fork-associated double-strand breaks. MMS22L may facilitate the assembly of RAD51 filaments on ssDNA.
