Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an activator of p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and plays a key role in the MAPK signaling pathway. ERK1 regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells. It is activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, and viral infections, leading to nuclear translocation and phosphorylation of nuclear targets. ERK1 is involved in cellular proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression in response to extracellular signals. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been identified.
