Recombinant anti-SARS-CoV-2 spike antibody is expressed from HEK293 cells.
It is a chimeric monoclonal antibody combining the mouse variable regions with the constant domains of human IgG1.
Target Information
SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2), also known as 2019-nCoV, causes illnesses ranging from mild cold-like symptoms to severe respiratory distress and death.
The Spike Protein consists of S1 and S2 domains and serves as the main surface antigen of the virus.
The glycosylated Spike protein can be detected in infected cell culture supernatants with antisera from SARS patients.
The S1 domain contains a receptor-binding domain (RBD) that specifically binds to ACE2, the receptor on target cells.
Variations in Spike proteins among coronaviruses reflect differences in receptor interactions and fusion mechanisms.
