Target Information
The protein encoded by the EIF4G3 gene is part of the eIF4F protein complex, which plays a critical role in mRNA cap recognition and transport of mRNAs to the ribosome. A microRNA (miR-520c-3p) negatively regulates synthesis of this protein, resulting in decreased protein translation and cell proliferation. Thus, EIF4G3 is a key component in the anti-tumor activity of miR-520c-3p.
